The Strand – Washington, DC

Access Demolition & Environmental was awarded the opportunity to tear down an existing building located in Washington, DC.   The abandoned building, The Strand, had abatement services that needed to be completed before the demolition of the building could occur.  Access was able to complete the task on time & within budget.  

Demolition/Abatement:

• Provide 10 day abatement notification and permit for asbestos removal
• Mobilize manpower & equipment 
• Install & maintain sediment & erosion control
• Remove approx. 200 SF of ACM floor tile 
• Completely demolish existing building 
• Transport debris to approved facilities per district & federal guidelines
• Remove slab & foundation
• Backfill basement
• Remove & recycle concrete where indicated on drawings
• Provide hydrant tap & permit for water usage during demolition work
• Provide traffic control personnel  for trucks & equipment moving on & off site
• Work to be completed in one phase
